Cantilever racks are storage equipment designed for storing long materials, ring-shaped goods, and irregularly shaped items. Available in single-sided and double-sided configurations, these racks feature adjustable cantilever arms mounted on one or both sides of the upright columns. They offer a stable structure and flexible access.

Cantilever Rack Component

Upright: Vertical uprights with holes for mounting adjustable arms.
Base: Secured to the floor to increase ground contact area, further enhancing rack stability.
Arm: A horizontally positioned component with a flat surface, typically adjustable, designed to evenly support long materials and prevent localized deformation under load.
Bracing: Horizontal and diagonal braces that provide structural rigidity.

Points Need Note

  • More suitable for long materials: For loose small items or square carton goods, cantilever racks waste space; pallet racks or mezzanine racks are more appropriate.
  • Prohibit overloading: Each cantilever arm must not exceed its rated capacity. Distribute materials evenly during storage to prevent excessive stress on any single arm.
  • Ensure rack stability: Although the base is securely anchored, reinforce the structure when storing extra-long or heavy items to prevent tipping. Exercise caution during forklift operations to avoid colliding with cantilevers.

Applications for Cantilever Racking

Cantilever racks offer maximum, unrestricted access to items, making them ideal for warehouses, manufacturing, and retail environments that handle, for example, PVC pipes, steel bar stock, plywood, or furniture. They can be configured as single-sided (usually against a wall) or double-sided for maximum efficiency.

Machinery Manufacturing Industry: Machinery plants handle large quantities of steel, profiles, pipes, and shaft components. These long materials require secure storage. Cantilever racks prevent deformation while facilitating production withdrawals.

Building Material Supermarkets/Warehouses: Used for storing steel pipes, aluminum profiles, wood panels, gypsum boards, and other building materials. They enable categorized display for customer selection, save storage space, and enhances store organization.

Pipe/Profile Processing Plants: Raw materials (e.g., seamless steel pipes, aluminum alloy profiles) and semi-finished products are predominantly long and linear. Cantilever racking enables efficient storage and retrieval while minimizing material damage.

Cable Industry: Used for storing coiled cables. Placing cable reels on cantilever arms prevents crushing and deformation, facilitates easy access and inventory checks, and avoids cable tangling.
