Features & Benefits

✔ Significantly higher storage space utilization (often over 30%) compared to standard pallet racks.

✔ Supports drive-in or drive-through access for bulk storage; forklifts can enter racking lanes directly.

✔ Guide rails can be added to ensure safe, accurate vehicle movement within the rack.

✔ Built for strength and durability: integral stamping/rolling components, robust bracket and beam construction.

✔ Ideal for industries such as cold storage, food & beverage, tobacco, where large quantities of similar items are stored.

Configuration Suggestions

To get optimal performance:

  • Keep single-sided retrieval depth ≤ 7 pallets to maintain efficient forklift access.
  • For double access (drive-through), maximum depth can extend, but maintain visibility and safety.
  • Overall rack height generally recommended to be under ~10 m; if higher, use reinforcement structures.

Applications

Drive-Through Racking is commonly used in:

  • Cold storage / freezing facilities
  • Food & beverage warehouses
  • Tobacco storage
  • Wholesale and bulk goods storage with low SKU variety

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between Drive-In and Drive-Through Rack?

A: Drive-In racks allow forklifts to enter from one side only (LIFO), while drive-through racks allow entry/exit from both sides (FIFO), improving material flow but requiring access on both sides.

Q: How deep should rack lanes be?

A: Typically, no more than 7 pallet depths for single-sided access. For through-type (dual access), depths can be greater, but visibility, safety, and lift time must be considered.

Q: How to ensure safety with high racks?

A: Limit rack height to under ~10 meters where possible, install reinforcement (top cross beams, diagonal braces), ensure floor flatness, and train operators properly.
